Swimming this morning out to the Post were Judy, Chris, Bevan and Dave S.
Judy headed out first narrowly missing the cross traffic. Bevan and Chris set off next but I waited for the traffic to clear. Heading to the cones at the 50 metre mark, I noticed that Bevan and Chris were a respectable distance away. The energy levels were dipping to an all-time low and the brain waves kicked in on the the theme of maybe stopping at the cones and that would be it.
Alas, as I neared the 80 metre mark I noticed that Bevan and Chris had stopped to wait for me. BLAST IT@! They were obviously a wake-up to my lethargic pace and tactics. We all set off again with Chris surging ahead and setting a course for Grotto Point. Bevan meanwhile shepherded me across to the Post.
The water remains tea-coloured and a little foul tasting but pleasantly cool at 19.8C. The return trip was via the island, around a cat near the far cone, back to the dirty cone and a relaxing dog-paddle, backstroke, breaststroke, or freestyle to the beach. LOVELY!
I spied Sutho running on the beach but the BJs and Matt are MIA…
Just rounding off my winter training regime in readiness to hit the swimming discipline…I’ve been tapering for 7 months so should be ready when the temperature is back to 20+ degrees & the dogs & cats have been removed from the water. My coach has me ready for a Monday November 30 return….looking forward to the swimming & the banter!
We must pencil that in our diaries Richard – Mon, Nov 30, 2015 correct?! I’ll even show up on the day so that we have a full complement. Now where is that Matt character? Last time we saw him was on a surfboard searching for his next wave…

I vow to return….in fact….I actually hit the pool here at the Hotel….in preparation….no stingers, no sharks in Beverly Hills pool…just a lot of silicone in the way…so changed from freestyle to B***** stroke…you get it !!!

That would be three swims in a row including Friday which of course you would not be aware of since you weren’t there… 😉
