A case of the Idiot Shiraz and Rudder Jam 3

The idiots tackled the new /old fave on Friday with a swim out to the post, back to the far cone, then across to the island, back to the first cone and into the beach.

Stephen, Bevan, Richard, and Dave stood on the beach wondering if Sutho was ever going to show up. He was past tardy and has been complaining this week of being in a hurry because of kids duties. Here’s a tip Sutho, show up on time for the swim and then you don’t need to rush on the return trip……

Eventually… Sutho arrived… and we set off, all arriving at the post around the same time. We had a fascinating discussion on a range of topics, but you know what they say… What’s discussed at the post stays at the post…

The swim back to the far cone… was not without difficulties as Dave’s rudder was jammed and he drifted far left of the intended target. Ok, his excuse this time was foggy goggles and almost being run over by a group of kayakers, but an equally palatable excuse was likening it to Pavlov’s dog – as this was the route Dave swam with Bevan last winter.

Swimming across to the island, Dave drifted far inside the cones…AGAIN….alright, he admits that he needs to breathe bilaterally and stretch more.

Richard was concerned that the new swim route wouldn’t stretch for 1000 metres, but you can breathe easy Richard as the distance covered was 1038 metres… phewww ๐Ÿ˜‰

On to a more pressing matter…. what sort of idiot buys a case of wine and then shares it?

A damned fine one, that’s for sure! After our swim, Stephen presented Sutho, Bevan, Linda, Richard and Dave with their own bottle ofย  ‘The Idiot Shiraz 2009’.

Idiotic gesture Stephen and very much appreciated…THANKS!!

About Dave

Dave has been an idiot for longer than he can remember. However, his Real Idiot status was confirmed about 20 years ago when Linda and Bevan coaxed him out to the post. Developer and administrator of this website as well as reporter, photographer, and chief spell-checker. Thankfully, other idiots contribute to the site to keep it interesting...

Ok…will endeavour to not be as tardy, given that I also live the closest!
And cracked the Idiot Shiraz on Saturday night, after several beers and a bottle of white, so not sure what it really tasted like!!
Did feel like an idiot the next morning though! Hic!
