Time for a Slalom? 1

A cast of thousands appeared for roll call this morning. Present for the count was: Judy, Tim, Matt, Stephen, Richard, Chris, Dave F., Dave S., and last but not least Bevan! Phew, my brain hurts counting that high. Where to go? How about a slalom course? Around the bow of the first yacht, around the stern or through the cat, around the stern of the third…even that’s confusing… idiot fact check required here… around the bow of Belle, and finish at the post. Judy headed out first, followed closely by Tim and Dave S.

Not much leeway given and soon all the idiots arrived at the first yacht together. Stopped for a quick chat with the owner then off to the 2nd and third targets with Chris leading the way. Protest flag raised for Chris who swam between the dinghy and the stern of the third yacht… A bit of argy, bargy rounding Belle but all arrived safely at the Post in one piece. Hats off to Matt and Tim who had completed  a grueling bit of paddling on their surfboards around Balmoral prior to the swim.

Across to the island next, then straight to shore, finishing off with a dugong to the Steps. Well done!

For the record, distance swam today was about 1km.

About Dave

Dave has been an idiot for longer than he can remember. However, his Real Idiot status was confirmed about 20 years ago when Linda and Bevan coaxed him out to the post. Developer and administrator of this website as well as reporter, photographer, and chief spell-checker. Thankfully, other idiots contribute to the site to keep it interesting...

Great summary of today’s events Dave….but as one who was orchestrating the swim route I can tell you it was ‘stern, bow, stern” & then around Belle. How do I know – I also did the cut across the dinghy (last boat) & managed to graze myself on the rope between dinghy & mother boat! (serves me right I know). Cracker swim….
