Linda and Dave had a mammoth swim for a lazy Saturday. Despite the water temperature recorded as 15.1C this morning, it was a pleasant temperature to swim without a wetsuit. We headed across to the vertical pipes at the halfway point of the island, then set an audacious swim route – out to the post, down to the far cone, back to the island, back again to the dirty cone and into the beach. Dave was chilled to the bone by the time he reached the island and couldn’t wait to get out of the water. Linda however demonstrated yet again that she is a supreme idiot by continuing to swim to the pool and back to the steps! It was a pleasant morning until the wind picked up. Dave swam 1142 metres or thereabouts and Linda swam about 1600 metres, give or take.
