A Slow Dance Stern to Bow for 1.03kms 2

The orders were given and despatched to the offshore idiots assembled for today ‘s swim. Out to “Slow Dance”, rounding the stern first, then bow, then stop at the post. “Slow Dance” was laying at anchor 500 metres away so it was a good distance of 650m for the outward leg. Bevan, Richard, Rob, Stephen, Matt, Chris and Dave were the idiots venturing out today.

At the post it was decided that an easy swim back to the dirty cone would suffice. Dave chose to zig-zag back to keep his pursuer (Bevan) guessing. Ok, I have to admit that my navigation was on the blink for the return leg…

The sea lice were plentiful and enjoyed nibbling on my armpit and forehead. No-one else noticed them but Suzie confirmed that she was also subjected to their fervour.

The inshore idiots enjoying the ridiculously warm water of 24C included Linda, Janice, Di, Di, Tony, Ian, Mike, Suzie, Malcolm, Rod, Pam, Louise, Paul, Paul, Dennis, Vic, Rosemary, Robyn, Ruth, Peter, Pam, Phil, and now my brain is hurting…

Here are some photos of the colours this morning that may be a reflection of my mood. I have included a couple of photos of my dear brother Tim who was taken away from us yesterday at the age of 58. I’ll miss you mate.

About Dave

Dave has been an idiot for longer than he can remember. However, his Real Idiot status was confirmed about 20 years ago when Linda and Bevan coaxed him out to the post. Developer and administrator of this website as well as reporter, photographer, and chief spell-checker. Thankfully, other idiots contribute to the site to keep it interesting...

Well guys, you did all the idiots proud again. Dave, the cloud formations so special – perhaps brother Tim was saying goodbye in his own way… did not appreciate the sombre occasion on meeting the ‘Mother of our great Idiot’ last night, her ‘aura’ and connection came from a special spirit. No doubt one of the hardest things in life is to lose one’s own child… a special lady and may your brother smile down on all us ‘idiots’… and protect us from those jellyfish and sea lice! x
